What Is It?
We spend most of our lives indoors. In turn, we spend approximately eight to twelve hours a day at work, whether that be in our home or at an office, and another six to twelve hours in our bedrooms. Logically, these particular spaces should be as nurturing as possible. These rooms should help us do what we do in them better. Sadly, that is rarely the case. Whether office politics, small children, lack of time, or plain boredom is giving you the habitat blues, it’s time to do something about it! You don’t have to be rich or have an interior decorator to like where you work and live.
You’ll Need:
Your senses.
Design books, decorating how-to books, home magazines.
When to Do It:
• When you find yourself not wanting to go home because it isn’t a pleasant place.
• When you feel making your home comfortable is frivolous and a waste of time.
• When you feel trapped into living in an uncomfortable way.
• When your workplace depresses you instead of inspiring you.
What to Do:
Keep It Simple
We live in a world that encourages consumption. Consumption is not the key to comfort. Simplicity, on the other hand, may be, especially if you have little cash or are not handy around the house.
